Ruth Adams Garden Club members enjoyed an exhilarating tour of the 190th Philadelphia Flower Show. The flower show which started in 1829 was the first national flower show in the USA. In addition to the horticulture exhibits, flower arrangement categories ranged from tea cup arrangements to mini dresses created out of flowers, moss and other natural materials to capture the “Flower Power” theme of the 2019 flower show. A highlight of the show was viewing the 2019 International FTD World Cup competition. On the return trip home the group toured Longwood Gardens at Kennett Square, Pennsylvania to view the “Orchid Extravaganza.” Pictured are, from left, Rebecca Maxwell, Carol Fields, Nan Colvin and Brenda Hawkins.
