John B. Gould passed away February 15, 2019 after a brief illness with family by his side. John had a long legacy of community service. He

retired from the Navy as a “Tin Can Sailor “ after 20 years. He served two tours in Vietnam where he received many awards including the Bronze Star. Then he worked for the Department of Defense as a Federal Fireman for another 20 years retiring as a Fire Inspector. John also volunteered for the Creeds Volunteer Fire and Rescue department and Rescue squad in Virginia Beach as fireman, EMT, and Chief and Rescue Captain. He moved to Pamplin, Virginia and worked for Walmart for 10 years and finally retired for good. He was a third degree Mason and Worship Master at Princess Ann Lodge #25 and transferred to the Pamplin Lodge #191.

John is survived by his wife of 53 years Celestine aka Schultz’s, his 3 children Roberta (James) DeVasher, Blue Springs Mo, Jerri A Gould, Pamplin., and John C (Hope) Gould Chester, VA., his sister Dorothy (Mark) Nelson, brothers Charles (Pam), Robert (Mary), Larry, Rick (Sharon), Alan (Pam) and brother in law Lou Guerra. Also 5 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents John and Jane Gould, a sister Barbara, sister Peggy Guerra and grandson John Derick Gould.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Gary Sinise Foundation and Towers Organization Gold Star Foundation.

Funeral services will be at the Puckett Funeral Home with burial at Amelia Veterans Cemetery at a later date. Check the Funeral Home website for details.
