Prince Edward County, Cumberland County and Buckingham County Public Schools have announced that students are set to have an early release from schools due to the heavy rainfall and winds expected from Tropical Storm Michael.

Prince Edward County Public Schools announced that students will be dismissed at 12:30 p.m. and that after school activities have been cancelled.

Buckingham County Public Schools announced that it will continue an already-scheduled early dismissal for students at 12:30 p.m. A volleyball game scheduled for tonight for Buckingham County Middle School against Cumberland has been cancelled and is not expected to be rescheduled.

Cumberland County Public Schools announced that students will be dismissed at 1:30 p.m. and that after school activities, including Culture Night and WagiLabs, will be cancelled.

The Southside Family YMCA’s after school program has been cancelled, but its facility hours remain the same.

FACES Food Pantry officials said they will be monitoring weather conditions but anticipate remaining on schedule for its distribution and deliveries.
