Janet Winslow, 71, of Buckingham, has been arrested and is being held at Piedmont Regional Jail without bond on a charge of first-degree murder of her late husband, Ernest Winslow.

Buckingham County Sheriff’s Department, in a news release, cited that the arrest took place Thursday, Sept. 13.

“Deputies with the Buckingham County Sheriff’s Office arrested Janet P. Winslow, age 71, for her late husband’s death that occurred in 2012,” the release cited. “Mrs. Winslow was charged with First Degree Murder in violation of Virginia Code 18.2-32 and is currently being held without bond at Piedmont Regional Jail.”

Janet Winslow’s next scheduled court appearance will be Oct. 16 at the Buckingham County General District Court.
