Red, white and blue picnic

The Prospect Historical Society will host a red, white and blue picnic Saturday from 6-8 p.m. This will be held behind the “old” post office, lawyer’s office and doctor’s office in Prospect. There will be hot dogs, chips, drinks, something sweet and good fellowship. All they are asking is for you to come, share your memories of Prospect and a donation.

Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Smith traveled to Stafford Sunday to visit Jeff’s mother, Mrs. Dolores Smith. For lunch they enjoyed eating at Red Lobster.

Deserae Bowling, Flora Bolt and Frances Giles of the United Daughters of the Confederacy Farmville Chapter 45 attended the Sons of the Confederacy High Bridge Camp 1581 June 28. The dinner meeting was held at Charleys Waterfront Café. Chuck Ironmanger gave a most interesting Powerpoint on “Arlington’s Unknown Monument,” which was placed there by the ladies of the United Daughters of the Confederacy.

Lunch guest of Judy Bolt on Sunday, July 1, were Peggy Kelsey, Jennifer Jones and baby Thomas Dale, and Flora Bolt.

Jeannette and Kin Johnstone and Flora Bolt attended the chicken dinner and meeting at the Curdsville Community Center Monday, July 2. They enjoyed homemade ice cream following the meal. Buckingham County sheriff Billy Kidd was the guest speaker.

Jennifer Jones and baby Thomas were dinner guests of her mother, Judy Bolt, on Sunday as was Flora Bolt, Steve Bolt and Sharon Casterbury.

Friends and neighbors continue to pray for Betty Meadows, Don Meadows and Betty Jean Bolt.

Appomattox P.E. Presbyterian Church at Tuggle welcomes you to worship with them each Sunday. Jim Blackwell will be at Appomattox P.E. Presbyterian Church the next two Sundays.

The membership of Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church at Prospect welcomes you to come and worship with them every Sunday. Sunday school is at 10 a.m. with worship at 11 a.m.

Calvary Chapel-Farmville welcomes you to worship with them Sunday mornings at 10:30 a.m. and Wednesday evening for Bible Study for all age groups at 7 p.m. The Church is located at 302 Industrial Park Road, in the former Stackpole-Carbone building.

The Remnant Church welcomes you to worship with them Wednesday nights at 6:30 p.m., Sunday morning at 10:30 a.m. and Sunday nights at 6:30 p.m. The pastor is Jeff Spencer. The church is located at 1825 E. Third Street, Farmville in the old Cedar Brook Restaurant building.

Concord Baptist Church, 12053 Francisco Road, Farmville welcomes you to their Sunday School at 10 a.m., with worship service at 11 a.m.
