Picnic a big success

The Prospect Historical Society hosted a Red, White, Blue picnic on Saturday July 14 from 6-8 p.m. There was a large turnout for this event with plenty of hot dogs, chips, drinks, something sweet and lots of good fellowship. Toby Emert was there doing interviews with the people on their memories of Prospect. A great time was had by all.

Last Friday Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Smith were in Hopewell visiting their daughter Emma Sharpe and their grandson Jeffrey. To celebrate Emma’s birthday they had lunch at Ruby Tuesday’s.

On Monday Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Smith hosted the monthly small group from Faith Bible Fellowship at their home. Attending were Hilde Watson, Mr. and Mrs. Richard McClintock and Mr. and Mrs. John Utzinger.

Hilda Allen and Lois Johnson hosted the July meeting of the Prospect Happy Hats at Perini Pizza on Wednesday, July 11. Those enjoying the fellowship along with Hilda and Lois were, Gwen Paulson, Elsie Wilson, Elfrieda Kerns, Pat Smith, Margaret Stockton, Jean Hensley and Sue Case.

Friends and neighbors continue to pray for Anita French, Judy Derflinger, Betty Meadows, Don Meadows and Betty Jean Bolt.

Appomattox P.E. Presbyterian Church at Tuggle welcomes you to worship with them each Sunday.

The membership of Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church at Prospect welcomes you to come and worship with them every Sunday. Sunday School is at 10 a.m. with Worship at 11 a.m.

Calvary Chapel-Farmville welcomes you to worship with them on Sunday mornings at 10:30 a.m. and each week on Wednesday evening for Bible Study for all age groups at 7 p.m. The Church is located at 302 Industrial Park Road, in the former Stackpole-Carbone building.

The Remnant Church welcomes you to worship with them on Wednesday nights at 6:30 p.m., Sunday morning at 10:30 a.m. and Sunday nights at 6:30 p.m. The pastor is Jeff Spencer. The church is located at 1825 E. Third St., Farmville in the old Cedar Brook Restaurant building.

Concord Baptist Church at 12053 Francisco Road, Farmville welcomes you to their Sunday School at 10 a.m. with Worship service at 11 a.m.
