85th anniversary of club celebrated

A gala affair was held at the Buckingham Art Center to celebrate the 85th anniversary of the Buckingham Dillwyn Garden Club in June. The club was formed in 1932 and has stayed active promoting the love of gardening throughout the community. Members and guests enjoyed an afternoon filled with wonderful food, beautiful flowers and great friendships.

Marty Bowers, Virginia Federation of Garden Clubs President, presented a certificate honoring the club, The National Garden Club presented a certificate from the Buckingham Board of Supervisors, the club was presented a resolution commending the club for its long standing service to the county. A Peace Rose, the club flower, was planted at the Art Center in honor of the celebration.
