Scholarships awarded

Two high school college-bound students with direct lineage to students affected by the public school closings in Prince Edward County from 1959-1964 were awarded scholarships in May from the Moton Museum’s Moton Family Challenge Scholarship Committee.

Timothy Matthew Eppes II

Timothy Matthew Eppes II received one of the two scholarships. He is the son of Shaunda Eppes and Timothy Eppes Sr. and will be attending George Mason University in the fall.

 

Andrea Lynne Parrish

Andrea Lynne Parrish also received a scholarship. She is the granddaughter of Annie Clark Nunnally and will be attending The University of Virginia this fall.

Each were awarded a $2,500 renewable scholarship to full-time students for three years after the first award. The Moton Family Challenge Committee have awarded a total of four scholarships.

The committee will be accepting applications in December for the 2018-2019 school year. Applicants need not currently reside in Prince Edward County to be eligible for the scholarship.
