Robert Alfred “Red”Harris Sr., 80, passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2018, at home. He is survived by his cherished and beloved wife of 60 years, Carolyn; three children, Robert “Red” Harris Jr. (Yvonne), Susan Harris, and Tammy Smith-Bush (Robin); sisters Sandra Neal, Deborah Simmons, Eugenie, Roslyn Greenauer; brothers, Michael “Red”, Galen, Kenneth, and Neal; his chosen brother Dickie Harris (Elenor); as well as his grandchildren, Phillip Boggs (Jesse), Patric Boggs (Crystal), Christopher Boggs, Stephanie Rudolph (Ray), Erica Moore(Paul) and Courtney Smith; great- grandchildren, Sean and Annaliese Boggs. He is predeceased by his father Roland Shelley Harris, and mother, Louise Young Harris; brother’s Paul, Shelley, Albert, Charles, Maurice, Richard and George; sister Norine Bukovina; and son in law Ron.

He was a longtime logger and retiree of VDOT. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting and fishing. His favorite past times were watching television to keep up with current events and spending time with his family.

Visitation was held Thursday, June 21 at Puckett Funeral Home, 115 Covington Road, Farmville. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 22 at Buckingham Community Cemetery on Route 60 just before Buckingham Courthouse.
