Rain continues to impact the scheduling of the state semifinal baseball and softball games for Fuqua School with Friday becoming another day off for the Falcons and Lady Falcons.

Updated Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association Division III tournament schedules are to be announced.

The Fuqua varsity softball team, which holds the No. 2 seed in its state tournament, was originally set to play No. 3 Southampton Academy at 5 p.m. on Thursday at the Dinwiddie Sports Complex in a rematch of last year’s state final. Due to rain, the game was pushed to Friday at 1 p.m., and now that has been postponed again.

The No. 3-seeded Fuqua varsity baseball team was originally set to play No. 7 Brunswick Academy in the semifinals at 7 p.m. on Thursday at Shepherd Stadium in Colonial Heights. Then the game was moved up to 4 p.m. in an effort to beat the rain. That effort was not successful.
