Doug Watson, a Farmville native who recently returned to the area, has joined the Commonwealth Regional Council (CRC) as its office manager, replacing Sheila Martin, who CRC Executive Director Melody Foster said resigned due to family issues.

Foster said the position is part time.

Watson said he worked in Washington, D.C., with the U.S. Department of the Army before returning to Farmville and said he looks forward to working with the CRC.

“I grew up in Farmville, went away for a good number of years, and now I’m back and glad to be back,” Watson said.
