Harris leads area female all-district honorees

Seven girls basketball players from the Heart of Virginia earned All-James River District recognition for their performances during the 2017-18 season.

The group was led by Prince Edward County High School junior point guard Da’Mya Harris, who made the all-district first team and was named the district varsity girls basketball Player of the Year.

Joining Harris on the first team was Buckingham County High School junior Jayda Chambers, Lady Eagles senior Ka’Deshia Wright and Cumberland County High School sophomore Nikki Hurt.

Making the all-district second team were Lady Knights sophomore LaDeTra Swann, Lady Eagles junior Madison Lehman and Lady Dukes sophomore Sade’ Gregory.
