Kimberly Virginia Cave

After a lengthy struggle with cancer, Kimberly (Kim) Virginia Cave, of Farmville, VA, passed away on Dec. 31, 2017. Born on Sep. 3, 1958 in Atlanta, GA, Kim was the youngest child of Paul and Peggy (Shupe) Cave.

Predeceased by her father, Paul, Kim is survived by her mother, Peggy Cave of Farmville; sister Cindy Cave of Farmville; brother Mark (Gail) of Farmville; niece Michelle (Aaron) Cunningham of Ludowici, GA; niece Sarah (Curtis) Privette of North Wilkesboro, NC; and niece Charlotte Cave of Boone, NC. Kim is also survived by countless numbers of extended family and devoted friends across the country.

Kim was a 1976 graduate of Prince Edward Academy and a 1980 graduate of Longwood College where she received a Bachelor of Arts in English. Professionally, Kim’s 30-plus years in the insurance industry included stints with Equitable/Equicor, Aetna and Cigna in New York, Georgia, Virginia, and Connecticut. Also, she worked as a trainer for Toshiba in Atlanta, GA for 4 years. Kim was a member of Farmville Baptist Church, a lifelong, active member of Zeta Tau Alpha fraternity, a member of the Farmville Lions Club, and a member of the Farmville-Prince Edward Historical Society.

Kim will be remembered for her unending passion for life and selfless commitment to her family and friends. She lived life to the fullest and encouraged others with her beautiful smile, charming wit and tenacious spirit. She maintained a razor-sharp focus when things needed to be accomplished, yet she diffused tense moments by making people laugh. She was a natural entertainer and will be missed by so many!

Visitation will be held on Saturday, Jan. 6, 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Puckett Funeral Home in Farmville. Funeral services will be held Sunday, Jan. 7, at 2 p.m. at Farmville Baptist Church followed by interment at Westview Cemetery in Farmville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Farmville Baptist Church, the Zeta Tau Alpha Foundation or the Southside SPCA.
