Centra names new chief medical officer

Centra has named Chris Thomson, M.D., as their new Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer. Dr. Thomson currently serves as the Vice President of Medical Affairs. Dr. Thomson will succeed Dr. Daniel Carey who was recently appointed the Secretary of Health and Human Resources for the state of Virginia. Dr. Thomson will resume his Chief Medical Officer duties immediately.

Dr. Thomson has been with Centra for 11 years, and has been a provider in our community for the last 18 years as an emergency physician.
