William Gordon Whitter, 89 of Prospect, VA passed away on Dec. 18, 2017 in Farmville, VA.

He was preceded in death by his wife Rose Allen Whitter, his parents; Emmett Whitter and Vernie Whitter Meador, two brothers and two sisters. He is survived by his sister Peggy Johnson, numerous nieces, nephews and caregivers from over the years. He was a retired banker for Wells Fargo Bank.

A funeral service was held Thursday, Dec. 21, 2017 at 2:30 p.m. in the chapel of Puckett Funeral Home with interment in Prospect Community Cemetery. Family received friends from 1:30 – 2:30 p.m. prior to service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Davis Memorial Church or Prospect Community Cemetery.
