Prince Edward County Middle School (PECMS) students “adopted” C.E. King Middle School in Houston, Texas, which was severely damaged by Hurricane Harvey, according to a release from Prince Edward County Public Schools. Students and teachers raised money through jean days, hat days and donations. Students in the photo hold a check that will go to C.E. King Middle School. We commend these students and school leadership for helping their fellow man. Pictured are, from left, front row, Librarian Cheryl Tharp, Ashondra Robertson, Bookkeeper Brenda Walton, Principal Dr. Julie Gilliam, Nia Davis, Elizabeth McElfresh, Amaja’ Lewis, Assistant Principal Jeanine Garrett; back row, Assistant Principal Dr. Maurice Smith, Monay Johnson, Raven Moore, Jocelyn Spigler, Sion Reed, Alani Walton and Khalil Johnson.
