FRIDAY MOVIE, 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the Buckingham library. Join us every Friday for a movie. This week we’re watching “Justice League (2008).”

SANTA’S LITTLE ANGEL BOOK EVENT, 2-2:45 p.m. at the Buckingham library. Rosa C. Thomas, of Prospect, will read her enchanting children’s book Santa’s Little Angel. Wear your pajamas, bring a stuffed friend and get cozy. Snacks and cocoa will be provided. Books will be available to purchase.

DECEMBER 24

CHRISTMAS CANTATA, 11 a.m. at Oakwood United Methodist Church, Columbia, with Christmas Eve services beginning at 5 p.m.

CHRISTMAS EVE SERVICE, 10 p.m. at Centenary UMC, 12341 S. Constitution Route, Scottsville.

CHRISTMAS EVE SERVICE, 6 p.m. at Cedar Baptist Church located at 3932 Bell Road, Dillwyn. Everyone is invited.

ANNUAL CANDLELIGHT SERVICE, 5 p.m. at Fitzgerald Memorial Baptist Church, and welcome all in the community and surrounding area to attend.

CHRISTMAS PLAY, 11 a.m. at Chestnut Grove Baptist Church. The title of the play is “The Shepherd On A Special Night.” Refreshments will be served afterwards. All are welcome.

BLOOD DRIVE, 1 p.m. at St John’s Lutheran Church, 1301 Milnwood Road, Farmville.

DECEMBER 30

PRE-NEW YEAR’S EVE CELEBRATION, 4 p.m. featuring The Sensational Nightingales at Jericho Baptist Church, 615 Franklin St., Farmville, under the direction of Deacon Perry Carrington. Sermonette, Pastor James H. Taylor III.

DECEMBER 31

COMBINED NEW YEAR’S EVE WATCH NIGHT SERVICE, 10 p.m. at Midway Baptist Church. Pastor Irma T. Watson will be delivering the Word of God and Midway Mass Choir will render the music.

NEW YEAR’S SERVICE, 11 a.m. with Christmas caroling and Pot Luck Lunch at Oakwood United Methodist, Columbia.

SMOKEY WILSON IN CONCERT, 11 a.m. at Payne Memorial Methodist, 1 Stoney Point Road, Cumberland, at the Charge New Years Eve Service. A New Year’s Eve theme lunch will be served. Bring your family and friends along with a covered dish and join us in this special event. A love offering will be taken to help Smokey with his ministry.

NEW YEAR’S EVE MORNING WORSHIP SERVICE, 10 a.m. at The Apostolic Faith Church of All Nations’ with an evening service at 10 p.m. Elder Norman Wade, Pastor of the Christ Temple Apostolic Church, will be the guest speaker. Pastor Betty Jones invites all.

MACEDONIA CALL SERVICE, 4 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Appomattox. Guest preacher will be Pastor Mark Everhart, Lynchburg, along with church family.
