The 67th annual Farmville Christmas Parade, organized by the Farmville Jaycees, will take place Sunday at 2 p.m.

Brandon Clark, treasurer for the Jaycees, said that this year, the Jaycees have received “quite a few more entries… as opposed to the past couple years.”

“We anticipate a much larger turnout,” Clark said.

Clark said the parade route will begin at the intersection of North Virginia and Second streets and then move west to the North Main Street intersection before proceeding down Main Street, where it will end at Putney Street.

Clark said those interested in coming to the parade should allot themselves plenty of time for parking.

“Please be vigilant of pedestrians, floats, animals, as well as street closures and detours,” Clark said. “… We want everyone to have a safe and enjoyable day.”

This year’s parade is sponsored in part by Tony Markland with Alcova Mortgage.
