Longwood University men’s basketball won recruiting battles for three high school seniors, who signed their National Letters of Intent to play for the Lancers beginning in 2018-19, fifth-year Lancers Head Coach Jayson Gee announced Wednesday.
That 2018 signing class features the high school trio of 6-foot-2-inch, 160-pound combo guard Josiah Jeffers (Burlington, North Carolina/The Burlington School), 6-foot-6-inch, 200-pound swingman Darryl “DJ” Myers (Raleigh, North Carolina/Hargrave Military Academy) and 6-foot-6-inch, 210-pound swingman Jaron Williams (Rock Hill, South Carolina/York Preparatory). They comprise Gee’s fifth recruiting class with the Lancers.
“Every year we’re able to bring in a higher and higher caliber of player to Longwood,” Gee said. “Josiah, DJ and Jaron continue that trend and make up a recruiting class that will provide a solid foundation for our program for years to come. We beat a number of quality Division I programs to get these young men to Longwood. Their signings are an indication of where our program is and, more importantly, where we’re headed.”
