Cumberland varsity cross country program

The Cumberland County High School varsity cross country program produced some significant achievements in 2017. Its boys team won the James River District Championship in an eight-team field, and Cumberland Head Coach Allan Waechter was named district boys team Coach of the Year. The Dukes also placed fifth out of eight teams at the Region 1B meet. The girls team placed third out of five teams at the district meet and sixth out of eight teams at the regional meet.
