Martha Pernetta Apperson Thomas, 83, of Mechanicsville, went to be with the Lord Oct. 27, 2017. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Ernest Thomas; brothers, Paul, Clyde and Doug Apperson; sisters, Marion Harding, Louise Hatch, Bessie Hicks and Doris Jones. She is survived by sons, Ernest Thomas (Deborah), Clinton Thomas (Tracy); grandson, Stuart Thomas (Frannie); step-grandson, Chris Jefferson; many other family members and caregiver, Felecia Ballard.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at 12 noon, with service at 1 p.m., Dunkum Funeral Home, Dillwyn. Interment Rocky Mount United Methodist Church Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Rocky Mount United Methodist Church, Building Fund or Cemetery Fund, 404 Thomas Rd., Dillwyn, VA 23936.
