Longwood Garden Club meeting

The October meeting of the Longwood Garden Club (LGC) was held Monday at the home of Harlan and Reed Horton. Cynthia Wood, also a LGC member, gave a fascinating program on the Quarry Gardens at Schuyler, near Charlottesville. There were five arrangements exhibited at the meeting. For the arrangement entitled “From Every Opening Flower”— An Echo Arrangement, Shirley Blackwell, two arrangements, and Harlan L. Horton, received blue ribbons. Ann Morton Neale received a red ribbon and Pam Brumfield received a white. There were 14 horticultural specimens exhibited. Shirley Blackwell, Linda Hart Cheyne, Harlan L. Horton, Reed Rowe Horton, Kerry Davis Mossler, Anne-Latane Saunders and David Whaley received blue ribbons. Ann Morton Neale and Joan Witschey received red ribbons.
