Jimmy enlisted in the Navy at a young age and following his service started a long career in sales. He was known to be quite the salesman. He worked for National Linen, Hamilton Paper and Acme Paper.

Until his illness, Jimmy was a great dancer and in his younger day could often be seen at the Moose or Elk’s Lodge. He enjoyed golf and played weekly, until his back no longer allowed him to do so. He was quite witty and could tell a very entertaining story.

A funeral service will be held at Hill and Wood Funeral Home, 201 N. First Street, Charlottesville, VA 22902, at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 7, 2017. Family will greet friends one hour prior to service. Burial will follow at Cedar Baptist Cemetery, 3932 Bell Rd., Dillwyn, VA 23936.
