Members of the Buckingham Dillwyn Garden Club traveled to the Quarry Gardens in Schuyler on a field trip. According to a press release, on arrival they were presented with a video describing the gardens. The Gardens are a 40-acre area with botanical gardens of native plants built on the remains of six abandoned soapstone quarries. “The members enjoyed a wonderful walking tour viewing the beautiful scenery and the walkways of soapstone,” officials said in the release. “They then traveled to Scottsville where they held their business meeting and enjoyed a lovely lunch at The Tavern on the James.” Pictured from left, Estella Smith, Sharon Byrum, Marie Flowers, Elfriede Wolford, Suzanne Van De Grift, Pat Johnson, Agnes Cramer, our guide and owner, Armand Thieblot, Jeanette Reck, Kay Carter, Jackie Fairbarns, Elsie Towler, Sharon Snoddy, Glenda Harris, Barbara Wheeler, Patti Cramer and Brenda Hanby.
