One way to find your artistic voice is through extraction and simplicity, according to Ursula Burgess, workshop instructor.
“Discover the importance of trimming down the information and removing excessive details in your design that distract from the content of your painting. Simplicity can be sophisticated,” Burgess said in a press release. “Learn to focus on the essence of your work and explore new techniques along the way. We will work with watercolors and acrylics on watercolor paper and stretched canvases.”
Taught by Burgess and sponsored by the Central Virginia Arts and the Longwood Center for the Visual Arts (LCVA), the workshop will be held at the LCVA, Monday through Thursday, Oct. 30 to Nov. 2, 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. each day. The class size is limited to 16 participants.
“This is an enjoyable and exciting workshop where all levels are welcome,” said Burgess in the release. For more information contact Burgess at ucburgess@gmail.com, or (434) 645-1933.
