Remembering those who sacrificed it all

The Farmville American Legion Post 7059 recently observed POW-MIA Day on the courthouse lawn in Prince Edward County as a way of honoring and remembering those classified as missing in action and prisoners of war during conflicts between the U.S. and other nations. According to a press release, the post held a “short, solemn ceremony to remember those Americans” who paid a great price in ensuring the liberties and rights we enjoy as Americans remain strong. Pictured are, from left, Fred Hill, Allison Martin, Mike Perutelli, Shere Hill, Stephen Wray, Judy Chantelois, Joe Baldwin and Jay Fort. We commend the post for holding such a ceremony for the community. (Send “Way to Go!” photos with a description and names to WayToGo@FarmvilleHerald.com.)
