James River State Park, located at 104 Green Hill Drive, Gladstone, in Buckingham County, will host “Going Batty” from 1-2 p.m. at the park’s visitor’s center.
“What was that? The dark blip in the sky that caught your eye. Could it be a creature of the night out on a hunt? Could it have been a hungry bat? Bats have always been thought of as scary animals in stories and movies, but they actually help the environment and benefit people. We will discuss the different ways bats are beneficial and how we can help them,” park officials said regarding the event.
The event is free and open to the public.
