Fuqua varsity football game canceled tonight

Fuqua School’s varsity football game against visiting King and Queen Central High School, originally set for tonight at 7 p.m., has been canceled.
Falcons Head Coach Ben Manis said the Royal Tigers forfeited due to injuries and suspensions.
“They had several injuries and suspensions…” Manis said. “They are not eligible to play this week per their school rules.”
The first Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association state ratings came out Wednesday, with Fuqua (3-1) ranked No. 2 in Division III behind only Roanoke Catholic School (5-0).
The Falcons will return to action Friday, Oct. 6, when they host the Roanoke Catholic Celtics at 7 p.m.
