Visitations, events noted

Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Smith visited their son and his family — Mr. and Mrs. Charles Smith and their children, Brianna, Charles Jr. and Christina — last Friday evening. Christina was celebrating her 17th birthday.

On Monday evening the small group from Faith Bible Fellowship met for their monthly covered dish at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Smith. Attending were Mrs. Hilde Watson, Mr. and Mrs. Richard McClintock and Mr. and Mrs. John Utzinger.

On Aug. 15, Mrs. Flora Bolt met Lois and John Gager, Betty and Don Meadows, Eliz and T.M. Manis and Irene Layne at Merk’s Place for lunch. Later in the afternoon Flora visited her cousins Cecil and Peggy East.

On Sunday following church services, Mrs. Judy Bolt, Mrs. Flora Bolt and Mrs. Jennifer Jones enjoyed lunch at Applebee’s.

Friends and neighbors are praying for a speedy recovery for Don Meadows, Frances P. Motley and Betty Jean Bolt.

The members of Appomattox P.E. Presbyterian Church at Tuggle invite all to worship with them each Sunday. The Rev. Buddy Woodson will fill the pulpit Sunday.

The membership of Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church at Prospect invites all to come and worship with them each Sunday; Sunday school is at 10 a.m. with worship at 11 a.m. Kemper Beasley III will be with them Sunday.

Calvary Chapel-Farmville invites all to worship with them Sunday mornings at 10:30 a.m. They invite all to join them each Wednesday evening for Bible Study for all age groups at 7 p.m. The church is located at 302 Industrial Park Road, in the former Stackpole-Carbone building.

The Remnant Church invites you to worship with them Wednesday nights at 6:30 p.m., Sunday morning at 10:30 a.m., and Sunday nights at 6:30 p.m. The pastor is Jeff Spencer. The church is located at 1825 E. Third St., in Farmville, in the old Cedar Brook Restaurant building.
