Gloria Elaine Molt died peacefully at Southside Community Hospital in Farmville, on July 29, 2017 at the age of 81. Gloria is survived by Michael Van Schaik; her nephew that took care of her during the last several years of her life; Mrs. Tillie Van Slooten, her sister from Pequannock, NJ and Elias Van Schaik her brother from Monteville, NJ along with multiple nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond Molt.

She was born on January 16, 1936 in Paterson, NJ to the late Herman and Tillie Van Schaik. She married Raymond Molt in 1965. She then moved to Farmville, VA in 1987 where she lived out the final years of her life. She was an accomplished gardener and could frequently be seen working around her yard and growing beautiful flowers and plants. She was a generous and kind person who loved watching birds and taking care of her dog.

A visitation is scheduled for 9:30-10:45 a.m. on Saturday, August 5, 2017 for the family to accept visitors at Shorter Funeral Home in Farmville, with a graveside service to follow at 11 a.m. at Westview Cemetery.
