As we’ve noted on this page in the past, Lauren Anema’s “Care for Animals and They Will Care For You” project has done wonders for our community. For her hard work, Lauren recently received the Girl Scout Gold Award — the highest award in Girl Scouting. She received the high honors for her project, which netted a large amount of donations, including pet food, animal bedding, treats, toys and lots more. All donations were given to the Southside SPCA. Lauren’s efforts were successful, evidenced in the long list of businesses, organizations and entities she’s thanked for their generosity. We commend Lauren for her hard work and receiving this coveted award.
