Wharam arrested on drug charges

BUCKINGHAM — A 55-year-old Buckingham County man was arrested on six charges of sell or provide schedule I or II drugs for resale June 28.

According to Susan Rowland, a public relations coordinator for Virginia State Police, the arrest of Curtis E. Wharam is related to an ongoing investigation by the Piedmont Regional Narcotics and Gang Enforcement Task Force.

According to Buckingham Circuit Court Online records, Wharam was indicted on June 13 for three offenses that occurred in May.

In April, Wharam was indicted for two offenses that occurred last July.

The Task Force includes the Buckingham County Sheriff’s Office, Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office, Town of Farmville Police Department, Longwood University Police Department, Prince Edward County Sheriff’s Office and Virginia State Police.
