Volunteers from Johns Memorial Episcopal Church, in Farmville, traveled to Wise County, Virginia to participate in the Remote Area Medical (RAM) Clinic held July 20-23 at the Wise County Fairgrounds. This organization provides free medical, dental, vision, preventative care to underserved, isolated and impoverished communities. Nearly 2,500 were treated. “Johns Memorial Episcopal Church was part of a group of 120 volunteers from churches all over the state of Virginia that collected clothing to fill a 53-foot tractor trailer,” church leaders said in a press release. In addition to clothing, socks, underwear and shoes, Johns Memorial raised $1,200 to the Health Wagon of Virginia organization.
