Kick-off is Saturday

The Pamplin Area Legacy Supporters (PALS) is sponsoring a free July Kick-Off at the Pamplin Depot Barn Dance and Pamplin Depot Freight Room on Saturday.
The event will be held on Main Street in Pamplin.
Old-time music, dance and a $5 meal will be held on Saturday from 6-8 p.m. with music by the Farm Use Only String Band.
According to a press release, PALS is a community support organization for Pamplin.
“PALS is sponsoring a dance to the old time music by the Farm Use Old Time String Band in celebration of their annual July event in honor of our country’s independence,” officials said in the release.
The release cited the popular old-fashioned cake walk would be held.
“Visitors of High Bridge Trail are encouraged to participate, and representatives of High Bridge Trail will attend,” officials said in the release. “The dance styles will include folk standards such as the Virginia Reel and called contra-type dances.”
“A picnic cookout style supper will start at 6 p.m. and costs $5,” officials said in the release. “PALS menu includes hot dogs, hamburgers, beans, grilled zucchini, watermelon and all the fixings as well as tea and lemonade.”
