Two men face charges of grand larceny and burglary after allegedly breaking into a building at the intersection of Cartersville and Oakwood roads in Buckingham County.

According to Buckingham County Sheriff William G. “Billy” Kidd Jr., 22-year-old David Lee Green, of Hampton, and 20-year-old Joe Oglesby, of Buckingham, are charged with grand larceny, burglary, trespassing and monument: intentional damage.

The report of the break-in came May 28, Kidd said, citing the building as a hunting cabin.

“We had a complaint back on the 21st of May,” Kidd said. “It was a guy laying on the side of the road acting strange … (Police) went up there and talked to him. He had some items on him that were kind of unusual, like flashlight batteries and had a bunch of change.”

Kidd identified the man as Green.

He said missing from the building were “a bunch of change and bullets and flashlight batteries and so forth, so they naturally put the two together,” Kidd said.

The arrest of Oglesby, Kidd said, stemmed from posts on Facebook.
