HOMECOMING AND REVIVAL, at Green Creek New Site Baptist Church, River Road, 3.3 miles from Appomattox Bridge in Farmville. The Rev. John Smith will preach the word for the morning service. Lunch will be served after the 11 a.m. worship service. Revival will begin Monday with different preachers, choirs and ushers accompanying their pastor. Prayer and praise service starts at 7:30 p.m. with worship at 8 p.m.

SUMMER AT THE PARK WORKSHOP, 10 a.m. sponsored by the Appomattox Court House National Historical Park, the American Civil War Museum-Appomattox and Wolfbane Productions for students ages 14-18. Students will study history and theatre with knowledgeable park rangers and the professional company of Wolfbane’s upcoming “Romeo and Juliet.” Tuition is $150 for the week and includes lunch, materials and two complimentary tickets to the show.

ANNUAL REVIVAL, 7:30 p.m. at Lone Oak Baptist Church. Different choirs will render spiritual songs each night. The Rev. Isiah Hurt, of Keysville, pastor of Tabernacle Baptist and Gill Hill Baptist, will be the guest speaker. Everyone is welcome to come and worship.

CALL FOR AID, U.S. Rep. Tom Garrett visited Sudan and arranged for the release of three missionary prisoners. One missionary was returned to his Czech homeland. Two missionaries (one with a family) will be relocated to this area. These missionaries and family need aid in the way of personal hygiene items, household cleaning items, food and clothing. In lieu of clothing items, please donate a Walmart gift card so they can purchase the basic clothing they need. Please donate only non-perishable food items. Items must be donated before June 28.
