The Third Thursday Book Club held its annual spring luncheon at the home of Elizabeth McCutchen. According to a press release, the speaker was Dr. Richard McClintock, retired director of publications and classics professor at Hampden-Sydney College. Dr. McClintock’s favorite thing to play with as a child was his toy train set. “He shared how his creative play leads him to making models and writing stories and books,” officials said in the release. “Today, he makes paper model kits of historic buildings, such as the Historic Farmville Train Station.” Pictured are McClintock, left, and Elizabeth McCutchen.
