The third annual Prince Edward Band Boosters Yard Sale netted almost $500 on Saturday. “We look at every dollar earned through our fundraising in terms of the service it might provide to our students,” an event spokesperson said regarding the sale. “In this case, we secured two scholarships for deserving middle and high school students to attend summer band camp (we were able to award seven for this summer), or lunches and snacks for the entire marching band during their competition travel season or perhaps a set of purple sashes to add color and flair to their new uniforms.” We thank and congratulate the event organizers, parents and others associated with the Boosters for working hard to support the arts in Prince Edward County’s Public Schools. Donations for the Boosters can be sent to 1001 High St., Farmville, VA 23901. Pictured are, from left, band members Audrey Butler, Pieter Green, Ian Lower and Isabelle Edwards during the sale.
