Longwood University men’s basketball head coach Jayson Gee recently announced the addition of Mount St. Mary’s University graduate transfer Charles Glover to his 2016-17 recruiting class.
A 6-foot-1-inch, 190-pound guard from Bowie, Maryland, Glover becomes the fourth member of Longwood’s incoming signing class, joining freshman guard Kamil Chapman (Charlotte, North Carolina/Comenius) and junior forwards Spencer Franklin (Forth Worth, Texas/Seward College) and Boaz Williams (Houston, Texas/Collin College).
A former teammate of current Lancer B.K. Ashe at Mount St. Mary’s, Glover enrolls at Longwood for his final season of eligibility after helping propel The Mount to the 2017 Northeastern Conference Championship, both regular season and tournament, and a trip to the NCAA Tournament. The trip to the big dance was the second of Glover’s career after Mount St. Mary’s qualified during his freshman season in 2013-14.
“Chuck is a great addition to our program,” said Gee, now entering his fifth season as head coach of the Lancers. “He will provide instant leadership, toughness and experience to our deep and talented roster. He’s physical, he’s a veteran and he’s a winner who comes from a winning program. He’s one of those players who can make everyone around him better, and we will count on him heavily next season.”
