He questions Simpson’s motives

Editor:

An article in the April 28 edition of your paper, titled “Supervisors approve health care changes,” stated that Prince Edward Supervisor Howard Simpson presented a petition to the Prince Edward County Board of Supervisors on behalf of county employees opposing any changes to the current health insurance policy that Prince Edward County taxpayers pay 100 percent of the premium for.

I am just a simple, old country guy and not sophisticated like Simpson, but it was my understanding that Simpson’s job was to represent his constituents that pay millions of dollars in taxes to the county.

By this action, Simpson demonstrated that he is far more interested in the financial well-being of county employees, some of which are his family, than he is of the taxpaying citizens in the district that he was elected  to represent.
