Doris Thomas Allen, 88, of Dillwyn passed on May 12, 2017.  She was born December 6, 1928, a daughter of the late Henry B. and Nellie Norwood Thomas. She was the widow of James C. “Jimmy” Allen. She was also preceded in death by daughter-in-law, Deborah B. Allen and grandsons, Jamie Franklin Allen and Nicholas Reed Allen.

She is survived by four children, Dennis J. Allen, Rickie D. Allen and his wife, Robin, Janice Turner and her husband, Roy; Danny R. Allen and his wife, Annette; sister, Jean Chenault and her husband, Ralph; brother, Keith Thomas; 17 grandchildren, Tara Carter, Tellie Saunders, Amy Hintz, Reva Moore, Tyler Allen, Landon Allen, John Allen, Chasity Taylor, Joseph Allen, Andrew Allen, Karly Midkiff, Katelin Allen, Cody Allen, Kristen Allen and Haley Allen and 16 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held May 14, 2017 at the Dunkum Funeral Home with interment in Rocky Mount United Methodist Church Cemetery.
