During a recent meeting of the Cumberland American Legion and Auxiliary Unit No. 269, Commander James Robinson, right, accepted a $1,000 donation from Auxiliary President Nancy Faxon. According to organizers, the funds donated to the legion will be used to construct a new front entrance sidewalk at the legion building. Organizers expect the work will be completed in time for the April 8 Spring Flea Market and Easter Egg Hunt. We commend both organizations for their hard work to improve our community and to care for veterans who’ve served in the line of duty, defending our freedoms. We also encourage the Cumberland community to support the legion and auxiliary by attending their events.
