FARMVILLE — The Farmville Police Department is investigating an incident at Timberlake Apartments near where Cedar Avenue curves to become E. Second Street.

According to Police Chief A.Q. “Andy” Ellington, several male subjects reportedly approached an apartment with assault rifles.

“The homeowner fired one shot,” Ellington said, but it was unclear whether any of the subjects were injured. As of late Wednesday evening, he said, officers were still investigating the incident.
