On Tuesday, November 29, 2016 Linda Kay Joye slipped the surly bonds of Earth and took her Heavenly flight to be with Jesus forevermore. Linda was born in Mount Airy, N.C. to the late Fred Patton and Adeline Gentry Patton.
Linda, a multi-talented lady, with an international network of friends, leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband of 36 years Rev. Furman Joye of Prospect; four daughters, Cindy Wood (Rev. Billy “Woody”), Chrissy Mitchell (Matt), Vicki Savage (Brad), and Arlene Joye; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Carol Childress (Jimmy) and one brother Benny Patton (Ruby).
A funeral service will be held at Heritage Baptist Church at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, December 2 with Dr. Ben Powers officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 11 a.m.–12:15 p.m. in the church with interment to follow service at Trinity Memorial Gardens, Rice.
