The Prince Edward-Farmville (PE-F) Minors football team fell 24-0 to the Nottoway Gators on Saturday in the James River Southside Youth Sports Association Super Bowl.
The Minors division features 7- to 9-year-old players.
To reach the Super Bowl, the PE-F Eagles defeated Buckingham 14-8 on Oct. 29 in the James River division championship game.
This marks the first time in at least eight years that a PE-F team at any age level has made it to the Super Bowl.
The PE-F Minors team finished the season with a 9-3 record, following up a successful 10-1 run last year that ended in the division championship game.
The location of the Super Bowl rotates around the 10-county league every 10 years, and the site of playoff games rotates around every five years. Next year, Prince Edward-Farmville will host both.
