Elsie Lorine Toney, 80, of New Canton, went to be with the Lord on November 1, 2016. She was born on December 13, 1935 in Buckingham County, a daughter of the late Willie Raymond Toney and Alma Newton Toney.  In addition, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Harold Junior Toney, two brothers, Raymond “Ed” Toney and Alvin “Al” Toney and granddaughter, Marion Michelle Bryant.

Mrs. Toney leaves to cherish her memory, two children, Wayne Bryant and Susan Fahed and husband, Jody; sister, Bessie Hudgins; brother, Bob Toney and wife, Mildred; grandson, Anthony Fahed and wife, Sarah; granddaughter, Samantha Mertus and husband, Ryan and their soon to be son; three great-grandsons, Ethan Leighty, Alexander and Camden Fahed and three very special friends, who we consider family, her devoted neighbors, Angel and Donna Nelson and Christi Kelly.

She was a loving, kind, sweet and caring mother and friend who will be greatly missed and touched many hearts.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, November 5 at 2 p.m. at the Dunkum Funeral Home, Dillwyn. Interment will be private.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, beginning at 1 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Buckingham Co. Volunteer Rescue Squad or the American Cancer Society.
