Locals get political at Longwood

The live broadcasts and pre-debate festivities at Longwood University are not only drawing out-of-town politicos, but residents from the Heart of Virginia.

Woody Belle Hanes, of Buckingham, stood among a large crowd at the MSNBC broadcast stand up as anchor Andrea Mitchell reported live. Hanes — a longtime Democrat — held signs in support of Virginia Sen. Tim Kaine, who will debate Indiana Gov. Mike Pence tonight in Willett Hall in the sole Vice Presidential Debate.

Behind her was Gary Barton, of Appomattox, who supported Presidential Candidate Donald Trump and Pence.
