Dr. Ray Gaskins, avid Longwood University supporter, took a break on Monday from the VP Jubilee to wait patiently for the media picnic.

Gaskins sported his unique VIP pass for the debate event — he was one of the very few to receive that type of pass.

“I’m kind of getting used to it,” Gaskins said of his VIP status. “It’s nice.”

Gaskins has been a long-time supporter of Farmville collegiate sports, including Longwood and Hampden-Sydney College. He is a retired H-SC professor and most recently donated more than $1 million to Longwood to endow two scholarships.
