A duo version of a Lincoln, Neb.-based band, Bernardus, will perform at Baine’s Books and Coffee in Appomattox, at 205 Main St., on Nov. 5.
Bernardus, usually a five-member band, will cut down to lead singer and manager Ben Kramer and one other band member for the Appomattox appearance, part of a tour that started in September and runs through November in the South, Midwest and Southeast.
“Bernardus is an eclectic band with a wide variety of genres to associate with,” Kramer said in an email. “Genres include folk, pop, Americana, modern rock, alternative and singer/songwriter.”
In a biography he provided, Kramer said the idea behind Bernardus came about in “an old rusty bunkhouse” in northern Nebraska.
“It was January 5. Five musicians, no head, a small PA and big ideas. Three days later, Bernardus was formed,” he said.
The band recently released its first, self-titled EP of five songs.
The Lincoln Journal Star called it “impressive, from the songs to the performance and the production.”
