Oakwood United Methodist Church will present a silent auction Saturday at 7 p.m. to raise funds for Jacque Akasa, the church’s aviator missionary in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The event will also include a play, “Food,” with refreshments served afterward. The church will also offer a homecoming service Sunday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Giani Manieri delivering the message. Dinner will follow the service. Bidding will cease on the silent auction at 1 p.m. Winning items then may be taken home. The community is welcome.
